Marc-André Binette is Vice-President and Co-General Manager of Fondaction Asset Management, as well as Deputy Chief Investment Officer in charge of Fondaction’s real estate team. Recognized for his visionary leadership and forward-thinking, strategic approach to sustainable finance, he believes that finance must serve as a lever to tackle social and environmental issues. Since joining Fondaction, he has combined determination and boldness to drive significant change, developing innovative financial tools to address key issues such as energy efficiency, natural capital, circular economy and affordable housing, and positioning Fondaction as a leader in sustainable finance. Today, he instills this vision of far-reaching financial transformation within Fondaction Asset Management. He has over 25 years of investment and management experience, and has been involved in Fondaction’s financial ecosystem since 2012. He has headed Fondaction’s real estate, private investment fund (VC & PE) and co-investment teams. Prior to Fondaction, he practised business law and held various investment-related positions across Canada for two large corporations: a closely-held company and a major institutional investor. Marc-André holds a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Université de Sherbrooke, and is a member of the Barreau du Québec (Québec Bar). He has served on several boards of directors, investment committees and advisory committees. He is notably a board member of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association and a member of the investment committee of the Patrimonica multifamily office.
